BEFORE YOU ADOPT
Some dogs need to run and romp
for hours on end
Some dogs are guardians, their
territory to defend
Some dogs are silly and sappy and
constantly happy
Some dogs are couch potatoes and
love TV
Some dogs know all the tricks,
but we all agree ...
That the average dog is a nicer
person than the average person.
We’re for Dogs!
Taking on the responsibility of a dog is hard
work. Rather that selecting a dog based on their look, consider
the type of dog that will fit into your family’s lifestyle:
Do you have a fenced yard big enough for a high
energy dog to get lots of exercise or do you plan to take your dog
for walks on a leash?
How will your new dog affect the other animals
in your home? Do you have cats, or chickens (some dogs love to
chase things that run.)
How much time can you dedicate to the love and
attention your dog needs? Do you want a dog that will go
everywhere with you, or are you a couch potato and need a dog that
wants to lay at your feet while you watch TV?
Do you like to comb dogs with hair or would a
"wash and wear" dog better fit your family?
If you have children, you need a dog that loves
to fetch. Fetch and Hide-and-Seek are the games children should
play with dogs rather than running games.
We Love these dogs! We want them to succeed and live long,
joyous lives ... because we’ve made that connection with them.
And something wonderful has happened to us! We want you to feel
that connection with them, too!
Please, ask lots of questions about any dog you’re interested
in adopting. Think about your lifestyle, and how this new pack
member will fit in. We have all types of dogs. We’ve got them
started on their training. It will be your job to love them for
the rest of their lives.
