Where Your Purchase Helps Support Rescue!

Volunteer Opportunities

People are our most valuable resource, and we respect and appreciate those who are willing to give their most precious commodity, their time, to help us create a more humane world – one community at a time.

We understand each person has a unique talent or passion, and have tried to ensure there is a place for everyone to shine in every aspect of our organization.

Outings

We get together for outings to give the dogs in training exposure to public events.

HideAway Pizza

Summer outing to HideAway Pizza in Edmond.  Two 10 year old girls took this picture and every dog is looking at the camera!  Pups shown above are from left to right......Barry, Brooks, Hanson and Harvey.

Sleep Over Home

Provide short term care for assistance dogs in training - sometimes for the week-end or for a week.  How fun!  Borrow a really cute, well-behaved dog for the week-end.

Puppy Raiser

Provide a loving environment for a puppy destined to be a service dog.  This requires raising a pup for the first year of life.  A New Leash On Life, Inc. pays for vet care, including spay/neuter and hip x-rays.  You provide food and toys.  The pup attends training class for basic manners and needs to be well socialized.  Given their promising future, the pups are allowed in public places to acclimate them to noises and to people.  You will be issued a "public access cape" and asked to take the pup out with you at least 3 times per week.

After completing training, you will receive a picture of your beloved pup with their client, updating you on the independence-giving skills YOU helped provide by raising a service dog.

Transportation

Transporting dogs to and from the prison on graduation day, to and from the vet as needed.

Fund-raising

Developing and assisting with special events, grant proposals, and long-term funding programs.

For a volunteer application, or more information, please call 405-224- 7715 or e-mail us info@traineddogs.org
